*News*

(28/05/07) Added a few more photos.

(27/03/07) I'm on a roll - updates 2 days in a row! Guess what? I finally got the Japanned EP for sale on the website!

(26/03/07) Still not got the new site up and running!  We've started work on an album that we're calling "Englands' Green Unpleasant Land 1979-1990". History page, Links page both updated.  Added another song from 1983. Some Photos added.  More news soon.

(30/11/06) I am in the process of completely revamping the site. The new site will have details of the new band line-up and a merchandise section where you can buy music (including the Japanned EP) and T shirts and other stuff.  Lots of things have happened since the last update, but I never seem to have the time to update the site. THIS WILL CHANGE IN FUTURE!

(29/06/06) A little later than anticipated, but we do have the Japanned CD's now. I'll post more details as soon as I can.

(23/04/06) We have now digitally remastered  three songs - Last Rat, Do it Tonight and Japanned and are planning to release a limited three track ep called "Japanned Ep". These will be available for sale on the website in about three weeks time (click here for a copy of the outside cover) These songs have all been dramatically improved from the versions that are available for download. More news on this will follow shortly.

(6/03/06) Have been trying to get Copies of the "Say Goodbye/Spies in your eyes" single into digital format but this has so far proved problematic. I'm hoping that we have at least one copy somewhere that is in reasonable condition and that we can digitally remaster it. We've also tracked down some old 1/4" master tapes that we are hoping to transfer to CD. If the quality is good enough, then we may consider releasing some of this material commercially. In the meantime work continues on some of the new material and we hope to have something soon!

(6/01/06) Happy new year to you all! You may be pleased to know that we are finally getting our act together - working on new material and considering offers to release some of our old songs. I will also be putting copies of our 1979 single on the website for download. We would like to release an album of songs provisionally titled "Re-interred" to celebrate our recent resurrection. Steve Taylor and Phil Hammond are busy working on new material as we speak and we hope to have a sampler ready in the next couple of months. We will also be revealing details of our new lineup and will publish some  photos as well. In the meantime please keep checking back for updates.

(3/11/05) Yes we are still alive! - just been a few things going on and a few decisions to be taken as to future direction and lineups etc. I will update further in a very short time. In the meantime I have added a remix of the track that we recorded for the "Total metal Attack" compilation

(11/10/04) The Release date for the Compilation album has now been set for Halloween and frankly I'm scared already! Not heard the other tracks on the album yet, but the rewritten version of Last Rat works quite well.

(19/9/04)  As previously reported the new version of Last Rat has now been recorded, mixed and mastered and will be included on a NWOBHM compilation (now titled "Total Metal Attack") on the Old School Records label -  Sleeve pic here. Work will start on a 3 track ep (probably entitled "Misery") when Steve returns from a two week break in Turkey in October.

(13/8/04) Distrainers have a track on a soon to be released compilation album called "Back from the Grave" The track is a reworking of the 1981 song "Last Rat"  The 2004 version has been rewritten and rerecorded and is quite different to the version available on this site. The Album also features Soldier who Steve used to play with and Agony Bag who Phil and Steve remember from the Leicester scene of 1980!

 (3/5/04) NEW Songs added!!

This site is very much a work in progress - we're trying to put the web site together in some form of chronological order, but it's proving quite hard to get hold of the old photos, and even harder to get hold of many of the old songs. We will however post stuff as it materialises.

The good news however is that Phil Hammond and Steve Taylor are in the process of re-recording some of the old songs and writing and recording new material!

It is the intention to complete all inactive links in the very near future and to update the site at least weekly (such ambition!). In the meantime, please check here regularly as we will have downloadable extracts very soon.  If you have any queries we can be contacted at webmaster@distrainers.co.uk
